GE Scanner — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
GE Scanner ("the app") is a trading-card identification and pricing tool published by Game Enthusiasts. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
Camera
The camera is used solely to photograph a trading card when you tap the shutter. The captured image is sent to our card-identification service to recognize the card and return its details and prices. Images are processed to identify the card and are not used to build advertising or biometric profiles, and are not sold.
What we store on your device
- A scanner access key you enter, stored in the device secure keychain/keystore.
- An encrypted, on-device catalog cache (card names and cached prices) to enable fast, offline search. It is encrypted at rest and never leaves your device.
- A local list of your recent scans, so results are not lost if the app is backgrounded.
You can remove the scanner key at any time from Settings → Sign out. Uninstalling the app deletes all on-device data.
What we send to our servers
Only the card image you scan (with your access key for authorization) and search queries you type. We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, contacts, or location.
Third parties
Card images and prices reference data from TCGplayer. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
